Four bottles of very fine wine? Tick

My Trump predictions came true

Over a third of US Jews voted for Hitler last week. A majority of US Hispanic men voted for the fascist.  More white women than not voted for the Nazi, as indeed did a majority of US married women as a whole. (Never let the wokesters talk about conservatives having ‘a woman problem’; when you disaggregate the data it turns out that in the US, and the rest of the Anglosphere, married women vote right, just as they did in the US last week; it is single women who lean left and by pretty colossal margins.) In fact, play the insidious identity politics game and guess the group that went for Trump by the biggest percentage of all groups going. You’re going to love this as much as I do. According to a CNN exit poll, it was native American Indians. I don’t think they’re pushing for a patronising, condescending, oozing hypocrisy and virtue-signalling ‘Welcome to Country’ over there. Turns out the race-baiting activist class, all inner-city lefty types with many on Washington DC sinecures, don’t really represent their group-based constituents. Who knew? Ya, sure, that Voice monstrosity was gonna be just what the Outback needed.

Meanwhile, for a Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump had the best showing with black voters in 48 years. (It’s still low, but the black men are coming over in sizeable chunks.) He got the best showing with Hispanic voters in 52 years, which is when measuring this with exit polls started so it could be the best ever. The President-Elect also did better amongst 18-to-29-year-olds than any Republican in two decades.  In fact, Kamala and the Democrats are now the party of wealthy whites with university degrees (who lean noticeably left) and of single women. That is not a good place to be. The Trump coalition will certainly outbreed them, which is why the left desperately needs the public schools and universities to try to indoctrinate the young. It was nice to see that’s not working as well as many of us feared.

Here’s another bit of data that’ll brighten up your day. One of CNN’s exit poll questions asked voters which issues mattered most to them. One option offered up was ‘the threat to democracy’. Guess which candidate got more of the voters who ticked this box? Well, it wasn’t Kamala. Could that be because anyone not in thrall to a ridiculously biased legacy media could see the following? That the Russia collusion hoax that hobbled the first couple of years of Trump’s first term was perpetrated by Hillary and the Democrats. That the two impeachments of Trump were laughable and meant to make governing near impossible. That the 50-odd former intelligence officers who signed the letter before the 2020 election that the Hunter Biden laptop ‘had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation’ were lying and trying to protect Sleepy Joe – which they were because the FBI knew it was real from 2019. Oh, and then there was the weaponised Department of Justice trying to bankrupt and imprison the Dems’ main opponent these past four years. Doing that with the four separate cases brought against Trump, none of which would have been brought against any other US citizen. The New York City ‘hush money’ one that saw Trump being convicted was the most patently laughable, ‘we’ll bend heaven and earth to get him’ of the lot. But the others were also clearly weaponising the justice system against your opponents.

But back to sifting through the entrails of that most delightful of election results last week. If any readers have done a bit of amateur theatre and are closet thespians (look it up), then now might be the time to buy that one-way ticket to LA to go and look for acting work and your big break. There should soon be a tsunami-like exodus of big Hollywood stars out of the US, at least if anyone believes all of the pre-election promises to flee ‘Orange Man Bad’ were he to win the presidency. Otherwise, all these privileged, wealthy actors who barely got through high school and who lined up wall-to-wall to endorse the worst candidate for President in US history – I base that on the person’s prior accomplishments and track record – would be hypocrites, right? And no way the late night ‘comedian’ crowd, De Niro, Whoopi, Clooney, the basketball star LeBron James, the list goes on into the sunset, well they all couldn’t be hypocrites, could they? On the other hand, we are now hearing that the Kamala Harris campaign was paying plenty of the ‘stars’ who performed at her events and who endorsed her. Even Oprah, who apparently got a really big pay cheque for her softball interview with Kamala. Here’s the thing. If you really believe Mr Trump is a fascist, Nazi, authoritarian threat to democracy and an existential threat to the country, isn’t it a bit odd as a multi-millionaire (billionaire in Oprah’s case) to ask for money before you’re willing to help Ms Harris?

Want to know the Biggest Loser in last week’s election? It was the legacy media.  After near-on 100 per cent support for Kamala we got proof most Americans don’t care what journalists think. Most voters may not know the latest studies that show that only 3.4 per cent of legacy journalists identify as Republicans (so infinitely more than at ‘our’ ABC). But people can see the way these networks flat-out lied about what Trump had said. They can see how they downplayed two assassination attempts to the point the networks soon were barely mentioning it where had it been an Obama or Biden shot at it would have received around-the-clock coverage. Forever. The punters also know the press let Kamala and everyone else pretend Joe Biden was cognitively ‘sharp as a tack’ for almost four years in the face of all the evidence and people’s own eyes. And they knew that Kamala was widely seen as the worst vice-president ever – until they forced Biden off the ballot and just installed her in some secret, enclave-type process where the franchise did not extend beyond Hillary, the two Obamas, Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Myriad people had their eyes opened during Covid. The press performed worst of all, even worse than our thuggish politicians and authoritarian public health caste. The media became fearmongering agents of the lockdown state, the doctorly caste and big pharma. Add to that its patent, ridiculously lopsided ideological bent to the left, and why would anyone believe the average voter would care what the legacy media thought or pushed? It was my deep-seated belief that the mainstream media was now wholly impotent that pushed me well over a year ago to make four bets that Trump would win and to state it out loud in these pages. Readers will be happy to know that your columnist has received his four upmarket bottles of wine.  And that he’s still elated about Trump’s victory. He only wishes that all of you could have experienced the schadenfreude-filled pleasure of going into work at a G8 Australian university the day after Mr Trump won. I went in right after an early breakfast to find that the preponderance of uni types were putting the ‘u’ into ‘morning’. It doesn’t get better than that.
